🔹 AA Live for instant developmentsGaziemir Public Education Center Director Murat İpek told AA correspondent that they demonstrated a meaningful example of solidarity with the trainees.
İpek explained that they decided to send the income from the exhibition to the children in Gaza in order to support the victimized people who cannot even get a meal, and said the following:
"People want to somehow announce this massacre. They want to draw attention with protests and marches, but we have come to the conclusion that this needs to be done in different media as well. Today it will be at an art fair, maybe tomorrow it will be at a concert, we thought that we need to react to this situation in every area of life, so we decided to start with an art fair."
Ukrainian Kateryna Kozachenko, whose work is exhibited in the exhibition, also stated that she wanted to support children who are victims of war in Ukraine.
Kozachenko, who stated that he settled in Izmir with his wife 5 years ago, said that he tried to establish a new life in Türkiye and returned to his childhood dream with the painting course at the public education center.
Kozachenko, referring to the fact that his family is still in Ukraine, said, "I lost my cousin in the war. The war is ongoing, but no one is aware of it. Ukraine is no longer in the news, but children are still dying there. My heart aches. I want to donate the income from my works in the exhibition to the war victims in Ukraine."
The exhibition will be open until May 11.
