Minister Ersoy explained: What is the next stage in Göbeklitepe?

Minister Ersoy shared a post on his social media account on the 7th anniversary of the acceptance of Göbeklitepe, which is considered the zero point of history, to the UNESCO World Heritage List. Minister Ersoy drew attention to the universal value of Göbeklitepe and the work carried out by the ministry.
Minister Ersoy said, "In the 7th year of the inclusion of Göbeklitepe, the oldest and most striking witness of history, as a world heritage by UNESCO, we continue our efforts with determination to protect, understand and pass on this unique heritage to future generations. The inclusion of Göbeklitepe, which broke all the old habits of the past and rewrote human history, was a global registration of our cultural memory.
With the Stone Hills Project, which we announced in Şanlıurfa on the 100th anniversary of our Republic, we are determined to understand this unique heritage even more deeply and carry it to the future in the light of scientific data. We continue excavation, protection, promotion and infrastructure works in coordination; we consider Göbeklitepe not only an archaeological site but also a unique center where cultures have left their mark throughout history. Turkey continues to protect the human heritage and bring it together with all of humanity."
According to the statement made by the ministry, Göbeklitepe is at the center of not only Şanlıurfa's but also Türkiye's cultural diplomacy vision.
In line with this vision, the exhibition 'Göbeklitepe: The Mystery of a Sacred Place' held in Rome's world-famous historical structure, the Colosseum, also attracted great interest from the European public. Opened under the shadow of two-thousand-year-old stones, the exhibition reached approximately 6.5 million visitors and repositioned Göbeklitepe on the international cultural stage.
