Istanbul Jazz Festival begins: The city will be full of music

Organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) with the sponsorship of Garanti BBVA, the Istanbul Jazz Festival will once again embrace the city with the impressive sounds of jazz between July 1–17, 2025.
The Istanbul Jazz Festival, which has a deep-rooted place in Istanbul's cultural and artistic life, is bringing the magic of jazz to every corner of the city this summer. Organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) with the sponsorship of Garanti BBVA, the festival hosts special performances between July 1-17.
Throughout the festival, jazz legends and new voices will take the stage in concerts to be held in Istanbul's most special venues such as Harbiye Open Air, French Palace, Swissotel, Esma Sultan Mansion and Moda Stage. Concert tickets on sale can be purchased at a discount with Garanti BBVA credit cards.
CHUCHO VALDES ROYAL QUARTETThe festival will be opened by the doyen of Afro-Cuban jazz, the jazz icon Chucho Valdés, who has won 7 Grammy awards. Jazz icon Chucho Valdés is preparing to give a mesmerizing performance on the festival's opening night with Horacio "El Negro" Hernandez on drums, José A. Gola on bass and Roberto Jr. Vizcaino on percussion. The concert will meet jazz lovers in the impressive atmosphere of Harbiye Open Air on the evening of July 1.
HERMANOS GUTIERREZOne of the pioneers of Latin guitar, Hermanos Gutiérrez, will give his first major concert in Türkiye at the Istanbul Jazz Festival. The guitar sounds of the two brothers, whose father is Swiss and whose mother is Ecuadorian, will meet music lovers at Harbiye Open Air on July 2.
MAX RICHTERComposer and pianist Max Richter, who has opened a new era with the bridges he built between electronic music and contemporary classical music, is in Istanbul for the first time as part of the Istanbul Jazz Festival. Richter, the modern master of minimalist music, will be on stage at Harbiye Open Air Theater on the evening of July 3rd with his emotional compositions.
GRÉGORY PRIVAT 'PHOENIX' FEAT. TOLGA BİLGİNThis special concert, in which French jazz pianist Grégory Privat and Turkish trumpeter Tolga Bilgin will perform, will take place on July 4 at the French Palace.
CHİARA CİVELLO // HAKAN BAŞAR TRIO FEAT. MICHELANGELO SCANDROGLIOOn July 5th, the elegance of jazz and the energy of young talents come together in the Garden of the Italian Consulate General.
JAZZMEIA HORNGrammy nominee Jazzmeia Horn, who will take the stage at Swissotel on July 7, will fascinate the audience with her powerful vocals and stage energy.
MESHELL NDEGEOCELLOThe American artist, known for his soul and funk tunes, will be on the Swissotel stage on July 8.
BRAZILIAN NIGHT: ROGÊThis concert, which will take place on July 9th at the Esma Sultan Mansion, will combine the warm rhythms of Brazil with the breeze of the Bosphorus.
MELTEM EGE & FRIENDS FEAT. MATT VON RODERICKOn July 10th at Hilton Bosphorus, Turkish jazz vocalist Meltem Ege will be on stage with American trumpeter Matt Von Roderick.
KEREM GORSEV QUINTETThis concert, which will take place on July 11th at the Hilton Bosphorus, offers the opportunity to listen to Kerem Görsev, the master of Turkish jazz.
JAZZ FERRYThe Jazz Boat, which will depart from Kabataş on Sunday, July 13, promises a day full of music on the Bosphorus.
NIGHT WALK CONCERTSYoung talents and independent voices will embrace the city at the "Night Out" concerts to be held at Kadıköy Cinema and Moda Stage on July 16-17.
