Striking statement from Ümit Özdağ and Özgür Özel about the operations against CHP municipalities

Following the detention of CHP Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar, Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek and Adıyaman Mayor Abdurrahman Tutdere yesterday, Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ visited the CHP Headquarters. The two leaders made statements in a joint statement after the meeting.

Ümit Özdağ made a statement after the meeting and drew attention to the fact that the operation against CHP municipalities was political. Özgür Özel said in his statement, "Our friends who were taken prisoner in the coup against the Ataturkist government, we will take our prisoners back when the day comes."

Umit Ozdag said:

We are constantly warning and will continue to do so. We do not know the allegations of the prosecutor's office, but we know one thing: the allegations of corruption in CHP municipalities are against the natural flow of life. Didn't it happen in one AKP municipality? It would indicate that these operations are politically motivated and that they are carried out in an environment where Article 10 of the Constitution is suspended. That is why we visited CHP Chairman Özgür Özel today and expressed our opposition to the hostile implementation and that I want Article 10 of the Constitution to come into force from the seventh. We will continue our support. We are against the implementation of two different laws in Türkiye. There is no difference between the government and the opposition.

Both the hasty arrest of Muhittin Böcek due to an empty file and the arrest of Böcek, who was said to have been given an apartment in the file, and only his former father-in-law, is pure opportunism by the AKP's order on the judiciary. It is an ordinary incident. There is a divorce, an agreement between the spouses, there is an apartment. The place where that apartment will go is clear. Böcek's son and his former daughter-in-law are both adults. The arrest of Muhittin Başkan, who has no connection with Böcek, is pure opportunism. It is the most important tourism destination in Türkiye, a place where money is sent according to 2 million people and which tries to provide service to 25 million people. Both the tourist and the tourist are happy, and he was elected again with 50 percent of the vote. A trial under arrest right in the middle of the season. If he was going to escape, he would have escaped, leaving Antalya behind. If they escaped, you would have been happy with yesterday. Let Böcek escape, let Zeydan Karalar escape. Let them go to the tourism businessmen in Antalya, to the mourning lady in Adıyaman, to the people Abdurrahman supported, to tell Adana about Zeydan Karalar's absence.
