RTÜK gave Fatih Altaylı '72 hours'

Following the arrest of journalist Fatih Altaylı, RTÜK also took action against the YouTube channel. Altaylı was issued a license warning. The statement from RTÜK is as follows:
Within the scope of Article 10 titled “Broadcasting services provided without obtaining a broadcasting license on the Internet” of the Regulation on the Presentation of Radio, Television and On-Demand Broadcasts on the Internet; It is possible to apply for an on-demand broadcasting license (INTERNET-İBYH) on the Internet regarding broadcasting activities carried out on the Internet, and to continue broadcasting for three months if it pays the broadcasting license fee corresponding to three months in advance together with its petition containing the application request and the attached undertaking. If the procedures for granting an internet broadcasting license are not completed within the specified period and if it pays the broadcasting license fee to be calculated within this period in advance, it can provide broadcasting services for an additional three months.
If the applicant does not submit the undertaking together with the petition containing the application request and does not pay the broadcasting license fee corresponding to three months in advance or does not terminate the broadcasting services within seventy-two hours following this announcement, the Supreme Council will request the Criminal Court of Peace to remove the content and/or block access in accordance with the second paragraph of Article 29/A of Law No. 6112 and will also take action in accordance with the first paragraph of Article 33 of the same Law.
