Poll: Trump's approval rating drops to 40 percent

US President Donald Trump's approval rating has fallen to 40%, the lowest level of his second term. Americans are particularly dissatisfied with his economic and immigration policies.

Differences in opinion on Trump are growing sharper, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll of 1,023 adults.
While 83 percent of Republicans, Trump's party, approve of his work, only 3 percent of Democrats are satisfied with his policies. About 33 percent of independent voters approve.
Trump, 78, who took office on January 20, made history on his 100th day in office (April 28) as the US president with the lowest approval rating in 70 years. At the time, only 22 percent of Americans in a CNN poll said they fully supported Trump.
According to a Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted on July 15-16, Trump's approval rating today is 41 percent.

The Republican leader promised during his election campaign that he would revitalize the US economy and fight hard against the "immigration crisis."
However, only 38 percent of respondents approve of Trump's economic management, up from 35 percent in mid-July.
Forty-three percent of respondents approve of the president's immigration policies, up from 41 percent in mid-July.
