Over a thousand accidents and 6 deaths in Düzce in 6 months!

According to statistics from the Ministry of Interior's General Directorate of Security, Düzce, which has busy crossings such as the Anatolian Highway, the D-100, and the D-655 highways, experienced a total of 1,210 traffic accidents in the first half of 2025. The majority of these accidents were recorded as involving injuries and material damage.

Main causes: speeding and traffic violations. The main causes of accidents included speed violations, violating the right-of-way, ignoring lane changes, and rear-end collisions. Driving inconsistent with road and weather conditions also contributed to the accidents.

Six people lost their lives and 981 were injured in accidents that occurred in the first six months of 2025. These figures have once again brought to the forefront the need for traffic safety measures.

There was a decrease compared to the previous year. In 2024, there were a total of 2,785 traffic accidents in Düzce, resulting in 27 deaths and 2,323 injuries. Data from the first half of 2025 indicates a significant decrease in both the number of accidents and the number of fatalities.
