Our Nursery, Izmir Children's Activity Centers, operating under the auspices of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality (İZELMAN AŞ), welcomed the new academic year. This year, the children of Izmir will once again have an educational and enjoyable time at these centers. With their nature-based approach, rich activities, and safe and peaceful environment, the centers, which offer a warm home for children, have once again become the preferred choice of Izmir families. Monthly fees for the centers, which will serve 1,698 children between 36 and 66 months old with 221 expert staff at 22 different locations across 15 districts, have been reduced from 5,000 TL to 4,000 TL. Parents, noting that the discount has been offered while they were expecting an increase in the new term, thanked Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay for his support.

Eda Kaygusuz, Director of Yuvamız İzmir Children's Activity Centers, explained that the 2025-2026 academic year began with in-service training last week and that they have begun providing services for children this week. She said, “We've designated August as orientation month. We aim to ease the process of acclimating our children to our centers with various activities. With 221 expert staff and 1,698 children aged 36-66 months, we are serving at 22 centers in 15 districts. We've opened 22 centers so far, and preparations are underway for another 6. We aim to reach more children at our 30 centers by the end of the year. Given the importance our President, Dr. Cemil Tugay, places on preschool education, we are working diligently with our entire team to open more children's activity centers.”

Kaygusuz added that at Yuvamız İzmir, they provide education with a nature-based teaching approach, provide information about children's rights, and organize trips and cultural and artistic events in collaboration with various units of the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality .

“WE WERE SURPRISED AND DELICIOUS WHEN WE LEARNED THE FEE”

Parents also expressed their satisfaction with the services provided by Yuvamız İzmir and the monthly fees. Irmak Dalak, mother of 4-year-old Poyraz Efe Dalak, stated that her son has been receiving services from Yuvamız İzmir since last year. She said, “We are very pleased with the center. My son enjoys coming to the center because of his friends and teachers. People are struggling financially. We were wondering if there would be a price increase this year. We were surprised and delighted to learn the fee. While we expected a price increase, we received a discount. There's a real difference between the education we receive here and other schools. We previously sent my son to a private preschool, and we had some concerns. The care and attention here, and the way they treat the children, are completely different. My son's behavior towards his friends has changed since coming here.”

Tuğçe Sarıhanlıoğlu, mother of 4-year-old Adnan Arın Sarıhanlıoğlu, said her son has been participating in activities at Yuvamız İzmir since last year. Sarıhanlıoğlu, who previously sent her son to a private preschool, said, “We couldn't cope financially. Since I left my job, we wanted to take advantage of this opportunity offered by our municipality. Comparatively, there's no difference between private preschools and Yuvamız İzmir in terms of socialization, cultural and artistic activities, and communication. On the contrary, this place has been better for my son. There's no difference in terms of socialization, the teachers' attention and care, and their feedback. In fact, there's even more.” Regarding the monthly fee reduction to 4,000 lira, Sarıhanlıoğlu said, “We know the prices of private schools. We're talking about a fee of 20,000 lira, close to minimum wage. 10,000 lira was a good price, and the drop to 5,000 lira is a great deal, and 4,000 lira is a tremendous amount. My son socializes very easily, and I can support him financially.”

Our Home Izmir stands out with its expert teaching staff, spacious buildings, vibrant classrooms, a three-meal healthy nutrition program tailored to children's needs, and a comprehensive curriculum. The centers offer training aimed at developing cognitive, emotional, motor, language, and self-care skills. Social activity classes include Gymnastics, Visual Arts, English, Creative Drama, and the addition of Kids' Yoga this year, aiming to help children discover their strengths and creativity, enhance problem-solving skills, strengthen athletic discipline and teamwork skills, and introduce them to foreign language learning at an early age. Our Home Izmir, where children spend happy and peaceful times, provides families with both financial and spiritual comfort.

PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT UNIT SERVICE FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES

The psychosocial support unit provides support to children and parents in need at all centers. Three psychologists, four psychological counselors, and two sociologists monitor children with special needs, raise their awareness, and direct them to the right places. The psychosocial support unit organizes online and in-person seminars for parents. These seminars address topics such as peer bullying, children with special needs, family communication, and child culture in the media age, aiming to increase parents' knowledge and awareness of child development. Children also participate in activities on topics such as privacy education, peer bullying, and classroom rules. All seminars and workshops are implemented throughout the year in a planned manner by the psychosocial unit to support children's development.
