Muhittin Böcek's bride and 3 suspects at the courthouse

As part of a bribery investigation launched by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, detention warrants were issued for Antalya Metropolitan Mayor Muhittin Böcek, his son Gökhan Böcek, and his former daughter-in-law Zeynep Kerimoğlu. Muhittin Böcek and Zeynep Kerimoğlu were detained on July 5th, while Mustafa Gökhan Böcek was reportedly abroad with his wife Zuhal and one-year-old son Muhittin Aslan Böcek. Muhittin Böcek was referred to the courthouse the same day and arrested, while Zeynep Kerimoğlu was released with an international travel ban. Böcek was later temporarily suspended from his duties as Mayor.
Detained at the airportZuhal Böcek, who married Gökhan Böcek in 2024, was detained at Istanbul Airport on the morning of July 27th after flying from Antalya on charges of "laundering the value of criminal assets." Zuhal Böcek's 8-year-old daughter from her first marriage, who was with her, was returned to her father. Zuhal Böcek, who arrived from abroad three or four days ago, was brought to Antalya after processing at the police station.
