Kasım Gülpınar answered TELE1's question, "Is he switching to the MHP?"

Mehmet Kasım Gülpınar, who was elected as Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor from the New Welfare Party in the local elections but later resigned from the party, met with MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli.

Following the meeting, it was claimed that Independent Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mehmet Kasım Gülpınar would switch to the MHP.

Reached by TELE1, Gülpınar's advisor Berat Karaca stated that the 40-minute meeting was a courtesy meeting and said, "Only issues on Türkiye's agenda were discussed."

Responding to allegations of a switch to the MHP, Karaca said, "There is no request from us or the MHP to switch to the MHP. Mayor Kasım will continue his duties as mayor independently."
