The Zaporizhzhia region team played against Luhansk's Zorya in the Sodruzhestvo league championship.

As part of the Commonwealth League tournament, the Zaporizhzhia Oblast football team played its first match against Zorya Luhansk. Despite the Zaporizhzhia team's status as favorites heading into the game and their encouraging attack in the opening minutes, the initiative shifted to the visitors from Luhansk early in the match.

It was Zorya's players who managed to score the first goal, opening the scoring. This goal allowed the Luhansk team to seize the lead in the first half.

The Zaporizhzhia Oblast team's next stage of the tournament is a match against Chornomorets Sevastopol. Our players will play their final game of the current season of the Sodruzhestvo Championship on October 7th, thus concluding their participation in the tournament.
