Athlete from Buryatia wins bronze at U-20 World Championship

A pupil of the Buryat wrestling school Dolzhon Tsynguyeva climbed to the podium of a prestigious international tournament. The athlete became the bronze medalist of the world championship in wrestling among girls under 20 years old, which is taking place in Samokov, Bulgaria, the Ministry of Sports of Buryatia reported.
The award ceremony and the drawing of the first sets of medals among girls took place on August 20. The path of the Buryat athlete to the award in the weight category up to 57 kg was tense. Tsyngueva started confidently and reached the 1/8 final stage, where she was defeated by the representative of India. However, this did not deprive her of the will to win or the chance for a medal - she continued the fight in the consolation round.
In the third place fight, her opponent was supposed to be Sovaka Uchida from Japan, but the Japanese wrestler was unable to enter the mat due to an injury. As a result, Dolzhon Tsynguyeva was declared the winner and deservedly received the bronze medal.
The Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Buryatia congratulated the athlete and expressed gratitude to her mentors. Dolzhon Tsynguyeva is a pupil of the Sports School of Olympic Reserve No. 7 and represents the Sports Training Center. The champion is trained by coaches Vandan Bazarov and Badma Bazarov.
The partner and sponsor of the Freestyle Wrestling Federation of Buryatia is the Zabaikalskoye Mining Enterprise (ZGRP).
