Astrakhan football clubs reached the 3rd round of the Russian Cup

Volgar and FC Astrakhan won their home cup matches. Both teams from the Caspian capital played their matches of the 2nd round of the Russian Cup Regions Path at home.

Astrakhan entered the fray first. Andranik Babayan's charges were unable to score against Pobeda from Khasavyurt until the very end of the match. And yet, in the 90th minute, the substitute captain of the "citizens" Nikolai Zlobin scored the only goal in the match - 1:0 in favor of Astrakhan.

For Volgar, the match against the capital's Chertanovo began discouragingly. Already in the 3rd minute of the match, the Muscovites' midfielder Anton Khomyakov opened the scoring after a pass from Vitaly Semenov. Having missed a goal, the Astrakhan team took the initiative. This bore fruit shortly before the break - in the 38th minute, Dmitry Lesnikov restored parity.

In the middle of the second half of the match, Yuri Yukhnevich's men took the lead. In the 66th minute, team captain Oleg Dmitriev delivered a free kick, and experienced defender Ilya Zuev made an accurate header.

The final score was 2:1 – a victory for Volgar.
