- - Responsibility for money from European funds has always meant being able to find those gaps that have not been filled for years... And this is how the program, the loan for digitization, was formulated, as part of the National Recovery Plan, so that we could carry out the digital transformation in Poland in a manner that is not only dignified, but also fair - emphasized Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs Krzysztof Gawkowski.
Today, Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego signed three agreements funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (KPO) under the " Digitalization Loan " instrument. Their recipients are the City of Białystok, the Municipality of Lublin, and the Bolesławiec Healthcare Center, with the total value of the loans exceeding PLN 65 million.
The support provided under the KPO budget is intended to help local governments and healthcare facilities purchase ICT infrastructure.
Money from European funds is aimed at equalizing opportunities in the digitalization process"Responsibility for European funds has always relied on our ability to find those gaps that have remained unfilled for years... And that's how the program, the digitalization loan, was formulated as part of the National Recovery Plan, so that we could implement the digital transformation in Poland in a way that was not only dignified but also fair. That means so that everyone could benefit," emphasized Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs Krzysztof Gawkowski.
In his speech, Gawkowski also emphasized that an important element of supporting the digital revolution in Poland is not only supporting the private sector, but also local government institutions.
- The loans that will go to Białystok, Lublin and Bolesławiec show that digital Poland is not a distant vision, but specific projects implemented here and now - emphasized the politician.
"These loans will go to those who need it, but also have the ability and courage to apply for such money, because this financial instrument is for the brave, who realize that a well-prepared project framework , zero interest, many years to repay, is an investment (...) in making our work easier, in being cyber-secure, in having better equipment, better network infrastructure, in conducting audits and training, and in the end, in the money going where it is most needed," he added.
- The loan agreements signed under the KPO were only possible thanks to the changes decided by the European Commission on June 21st - emphasized Marta Postuła, first vice-president of the management board of BGK.
"We are signing today's agreements eleven weeks after the announcement of the launch of the call for proposals for support for advanced digital transformation from KPO funds. At the end of September, after three months, we will close the call for proposals due to the very high interest in this form of support . This demonstrates the high awareness of needs and excellent project preparation by individual local governments and their subordinate entities," emphasized the BGK representative.
The loan instrument under the KPO intended for digitalization is very popularMarta Postuła pointed out that the high interest in preferential loans demonstrates a high awareness of the needs and the thorough preparation of projects. The application period begins on July 9th and ends on September 30th – three months after the announcement.
"We have received a large number of applications. We have over 141 of them . Today, we can see how well-tailored this lending instrument was for today, thanks to the work of the Ministry of Digital Affairs," she added.
The funds raised by Białystok, Lublin, and Bolesławiec will be allocated, among other things, to the expansion and security of critical infrastructure, the purchase of several thousand computers for educational institutions, and servers and software for AI solutions in medicine.
- The Lublin commune received a loan of PLN 21.5 million under the KPO.
- The city of Białystok received a PLN 32.8 million loan from KPO.
