Political scientist explains why Trump decided to strike Iran

On the night of June 22, three Iranian nuclear facilities were hit by American bombers. Political scientist Dmitry Matyushenkov, in an interview with the Tsargrad TV channel, revealed what prompted US President Donald Trump to order the attack.

According to the expert, the American leader is trying to try on the laurels of the world's policeman, demonstrating that under him the United States has again become a great country. The TV channel's interlocutor drew attention to the fact that, playing on the feeling of national pride, Trump is trying to show that everything is fine in America.

In fact, as Matyushenkov noted, Trump is following a well-known path in politics, the essence of which is that if it is not possible to solve domestic problems, then it is necessary to demonstrate bright foreign policy activity and increase the rating at the expense of the national pride of the population.

At the same time, the political scientist emphasized that in the situation of the American leader, the confrontation in the United States is growing, and if Trump does not begin to be distracted by solving internal processes, then he will have to look for answers to questions not only about why he is dragging the United States into the war between Israel and Iran, but also why he is endangering the American people and doing nothing for the country's domestic policy.
