Ciara Shows Off Stretch Marks From Giving Birth to Her 4 Kids
Ciara is having a body party.
The "Level Up" singer recently bared the scars left over from her pregnancies with kids Future Zahir, 11, Sienna Princess, 8, Win Harrison, 5, and Amora Princess, 19 months, declaring in an Aug. 6 Instagram video, "I am a mom of my precious four babies and they have blessed me with these stretch marks."
Pulling down the waistband of her pants to reveal her stretch marks, Ciara continued, "Why am I going to cover up when I can show off?"
She added in the caption of her post, "We all have moments when we don’t feel great about our skin—I’m no different. I’ve been seeing SO many conversations lately feeling like we have to cover up or hide… What holds you back from showing your skin?"
But this isn't the first time Ciara—who shares her oldest with ex Future and her three youngest with husband Russell Wilson—spoke about embracing her skin's imperfections. In fact, the title track of her 2019 album Beauty Marks is all about just that.
"It holds a great significance to me, my life and my journey," she told iHeartRadio at the time. "The idea embracing your beauty marks; your scars as your beauty marks.
Noting that she gained around 60 pounds during her first two pregnancies, the "Goodies" hitmaker said she considers the stretch marks she got while carrying Future and Sienna to be "beauty marks."
"So, Beauty Marks holds great significance to me and my life," she added. "I'm excited to bring people on the journey with me and hopefully people can take on the attitude of things they feel are their scars—or the not-so-perfect things—are actually beautiful things, and finding your beauty in those moments in your journey."
