#1 The Russian Ministry of Health has updated clinical guidelines for the treatment of retinoblastoma in children. The previous version of the regulations was adopted in 2017. Among other things, the document provides epidemiological data on the disease and presents an updated version of the TNM classification for determining the stages of retinoblastoma. The pathology accounts for about 95% of all malignant eye tumors. In April 2020, the Russian Government granted children with retinoblastoma the right to establish disability until they reach the age of 18. The initiative was prepared by the Ministry of Labor after Vladimir Putin drew attention to the problem. Previously, such patients had to confirm this status every five years.
#2 Rospotrebnadzor cited the following data in its report on the state of sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population: from 2014 to 2023, there was a tendency for primary morbidity among children to increase by more than 1% per year in certain groups. The highest increase in the group of children aged 0 to 14 was recorded for type 1 diabetes (+6.3% per year) and obesity (+2.3% per year), in the group of adolescents aged 15 to 17 - for type 2 diabetes (+9.2% per year) and type 1 (+4.1% per year), obesity (+3.3% per year), respiratory diseases (+2.9% per year) and myopia (+1.2% per year). The highest rates associated with obesity were recorded in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, with type 1 diabetes - in St. Petersburg and the Oryol Region, with anemia - in Dagestan.
Career
Former head of the St. Petersburg Health Committee Dmitry Lisovets has become acting director of the Territorial Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund of the region. He replaced Olga Gorokhova, who was appointed acting head of the TFOMS on February 13, 2025. Lisovets was the head of the Health Committee from January 2019 to November 2024. After his resignation, he moved to the post of adviser to the governor of St. Petersburg.
Digitalization
In January-March 2025, the Moscow Department of Health allocated about 161 million rubles in grants to 16 companies participating in the implementation of an experiment on the use of innovative computer vision technologies for analyzing medical images. This project has been running in the capital for more than five years, but in 2025, the funding volumes increased significantly. According to Vademecum's calculations, in the first half of 2024, the Moscow Department of Health provided only 150 million rubles in total to the experiment participants.
Criminal cases
The Moscow Prosecutor's Office has sent a case to court on the sale of unmarked goods and the circulation of substandard drugs. The names of the ten defendants have not been disclosed. Law enforcement officials believe that the organized group sold drugs worth a total of 12 million rubles through pharmacies without placing mandatory information on the packaging. According to the prosecutor's office, the drugs were intended for patients with diabetes. The operational footage from the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Moscow shows the names of some of the drugs - Saxenda, Xeloda and Soluvit N.
Infrastructure
Monolithic Construction Department No. 1 (JSC MSU-1, part of the development group FSK) won the tender for the construction of a multidisciplinary complex of the N.F. Filatov Children's City Clinical Hospital of the Moscow Health Department. The contract price was 65.608 billion rubles, the facility should be commissioned in July 2028. With the new contract, the volume of medical construction projects in the MSU-1 portfolio over the past five years has exceeded 120 billion rubles. Previously, the largest projects in the company's portfolio were a multidisciplinary clinic based on the Balashikha Hospital in the Moscow Region for 36.27 billion rubles and the construction of the Moscow Children's Regional Hospital in Krasnogorsk for 9.981 billion rubles. The company also took part in the construction of part of the intensive care units, roads and communications in the new infectious diseases hospital in the Voronovskoye settlement in Moscow, the cost of which was estimated by experts at 5 billion to 15 billion rubles.
