Orenburg Region to Allocate 178 Million Rubles for Repair of Flood-Damaged Clinics

The funding is provided under the subsection "Other general government issues" of the section "General government issues" and will be sent to the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation to provide a subsidy to the budget of the Orenburg region for the purpose of co-financing expenditure obligations. Budgetary allocations in the amount of 107.29 million rubles will be directed to capital repairs in the Kurmanovskaya district hospital, branches of the Orenburg regional anti-tuberculosis dispensary, and the city hospital in Orsk.
Another 70.4 million rubles are allocated for the purchase and commissioning in 2025 of three units of medical equipment - X-ray machines for the dispensary and a CT scanner for the city hospital.
The Russian Ministry of Health must ensure that an agreement is concluded with the Orenburg Region Government on the provision of a subsidy no later than 30 calendar days, and also monitor the targeted and effective use of budgetary allocations. The corresponding report must be submitted to the Russian Government by March 1, 2026.
In April 2024, the Orenburg Region government reported the suspension of inpatient medical care in Orsk medical institutions due to the flood that occurred after the dam broke. It was noted then that the city's medical service was working in extreme conditions. The flood zone included the territory of the tuberculosis dispensary and the inpatient departments of the city hospital on Dokuchaev Street and Nikelshchikov Avenue.
How the healthcare system responded to the emergency is in the Vademecum review .
