The high cost of Sochi and Gelendzhik forces Russians to choose housing in the suburbs
The south of Russia is tempting, but still inaccessible to people without enough money
The dream of living in the south has become a reality for Russians with money in recent years. Young people are moving to warm regions with their entire families to enjoy the mild climate, relaxed pace of life and closeness to nature.

The Krasnodar region remains a particularly popular destination for moving. It is chosen by both young families and older generations.
According to research, having settled into a new place, adult children increasingly think about moving their elderly parents closer to them.
Among those surveyed, 40% name climate as the main factor when choosing housing for parents. The southern regions of Russia have warm winters, long summers and a large number of sunny days, which has a beneficial effect on the cardiovascular system and musculoskeletal system of the elderly. An additional advantage is the availability of fresh vegetables and fruits all year round.
20% of respondents do not consider location a key factor, and 15% do not attach importance to the climate. But it is the mild climate and comfortable environment that remain the main arguments in favor of the south. At the same time, a quarter of respondents (25%) found it difficult to answer, which may indicate the presence of other reasons for moving to the southern regions.
30% of Russians note the importance of developed infrastructure: proximity to pharmacies, clinics, medical centers and shops. Well-equipped recreation areas are highly rated: parks and embankments suitable for walks and Nordic walking.
Transport accessibility is important for every fifth person, as it makes it easier for older people to get around. Only 15% of respondents do not consider infrastructure as a significant criterion.
As noted by the TOCHNO group of companies, the high cost of housing in coastal cities - Sochi, Gelendzhik, Anapa - forces people to look for an alternative. Many are beginning to pay attention to the suburbs and well-appointed villages, where you can find comfortable housing at a more affordable price.
