On Monday, September 22, at 1:00 PM, the MK press center will host a live broadcast dedicated to the Amur tiger population in Russia.
Last winter was turbulent for residents of the Far East. Amur tigers kept wandering into populated areas in the Khabarovsk and Primorye regions. The predators frightened local residents and attacked dogs, and sometimes even people. Will such unpleasant visits happen again? Why have tigers become more frequent near people, and who is to blame?
Viktor Lukarevsky, a leading researcher at the Institute of Ecology and Evolution of the Russian Academy of Sciences, a zoologist, PhD in biology, and a specialist in large predatory mammals and nature conservation, will answer these and other questions live at the MK press center.
