The youngest daughter of writer Mikhail Sholokhov, Maria, has died at the age of 87, the press service of the Sholokhov State Museum-Reserve "Quiet Flows the Don" announced.
Sholokhova worked as an editor of the prose department of the Sovremennik publishing house and as a literary secretary of the board of the Union of Writers of the USSR; she edited editions of her father's works.
Maria Sholokhova became one of the founders of the M.A. Sholokhov State Museum-Reserve.
