A hotline has been opened for victims of the train accident in the Bryansk region, the Russian Emergencies Ministry reports.
In connection with the derailment of the Klimovo-Moscow train in the Vygonichsky district, a hotline has been set up to provide psychological assistance and information support at the emergency service number 112, the department said in a statement.
Earlier, the Governor of the Bryansk Region, Alexander Bogomaz, reported that in the Vygonichsky District of the Bryansk Region, a bridge collapsed during an accident involving a passenger train. It was reported that the cause of the emergency with the bridge and the train in the Bryansk Region was illegal interference in transport operations. It also became known about the death of the driver, later the number of fatalities increased to 7 people, and the number of injured people increased to 35 people.
The train was traveling from Moscow to Klimov. Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud bang from the direction of the railway before the collapse. Reports say the bridge may have collapsed as a result of an explosion.
It was reported that a temporary accommodation point for the victims was set up at the Vygonichskaya Secondary Comprehensive School in the village of Vygonich. Food was provided for the people, and a medical service was operating. Russian Railways reported that the evacuated passengers would be given the opportunity to continue their journey on a reserve train.
