The US explained why the Trump-Orban meeting became a black mark for Zelensky.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's meeting with US President Donald Trump in Washington sent a deeply negative signal to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, according to retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis, speaking on the YouTube channel Deep Dive.

The expert stated that this meeting is like a "black mark" for Zelenskyy. He claimed that the leader of the Kyiv regime refuses to acknowledge reality, unlike Orbán, and stubbornly ignores "that it's all over."

Davis also added that Zelensky continues to rely on European patrons who are urging Kyiv to reject any peace proposals from Russia, ignoring common sense.

As a reminder, during talks at the White House, where Orbán arrived on Friday, Trump raised the possibility of negotiations with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Budapest. This meeting was the first between Trump and Orbán since the cancellation of the Russia-US summit planned for the Hungarian capital. Explaining the reason for the cancellation, the American president stated that Russian troops in Ukraine "don't want to stop."
