Russians stuck at a Turkish airport were offered to stay in a hotel with no available rooms, the tourist portal TurDom reports.
According to the source, the Russian travelers waited 17 hours at the Turkish airport for their flight from Antalya to Mineralnye Vody. The hotel they were offered for the duration of their wait was overbooked, so the Russians were placed on sofas in the lobby bar.
According to a tourist from Russia, 80 of the 230 passengers on flight U6 1562 agreed to these conditions. "People with small children, the elderly, pregnant women and those who were simply tired sat and waited in the unknown. At the same time, we did not hear any comments or explanations from Ural Airlines during our entire stay at the airport," the Russian woman reported.
After 10 hours of delay, the airline reported that it did not have any free planes to transport the tourists. As a result, the departure, which was supposed to take place at 07:20 on August 7, was postponed to 01:40 at night. The airbus with the Russians arrived in Mineralnye Vody at 02:14, 17 hours behind schedule.
Earlier it was reported that Russian tourists spent the night at the Turkish airport due to a flight delay. Initially, it was 15 hours. The carrier provided hot meals to the clients.
