MOSCOW, September 23 - RIA Novosti. Actress Aglaya Tarasova, accused of drug smuggling, is deeply distressed by the criminal case but is holding her own, a source told RIA Novosti. "She's deeply distressed by the situation, but she's holding her own," the agency's source said. As reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Tarasova was detained at Domodedovo Airport on August 28 with a vape pen containing 0.38 grams of cannabis oil. Investigators opened a criminal case against her and on September 3, charged her under Article 229.1 of the Russian Criminal Code (smuggling of narcotics, psychotropic substances, their precursors, or analogues). The Domodedovo Court in the Moscow Region ordered Tarasova to remain restrained from certain activities, while investigators insisted on house arrest. Tarasova herself stated in court that she "made a big mistake" and expressed remorse. She requested a restraining order against certain activities, as she is supporting her grandparents and is scheduled to begin filming three films in September. The defense presented a letter signed by Channel One in support of the actress and requested that she not be "isolated" from society. The investigator objected to a more lenient preventive measure, as Tarasova holds an Israeli passport and could abscond. Nevertheless, the court accommodated the actress and did not restrict her movements. She is only prohibited from leaving her residence at night and from using communications devices, except to call emergency services. A RIA Novosti source previously reported that the prosecutor's office had not filed an appeal against Tarasova's preventive measure.

As reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Tarasova was detained at Domodedovo Airport on August 28 with a vape pen containing 0.38 grams of cannabis oil.

The investigation opened a criminal case against her and on September 3 brought charges under Article 229.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (smuggling of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their precursors or analogues).

The Domodedovo Court in the Moscow region ordered Tarasova to remain in custody, but investigators insisted on house arrest.

Tarasova herself stated in court that she "made a big mistake" and expressed remorse. She requested a restraining order against certain activities, as she is supporting her grandparents and is scheduled to begin filming three movies in September.
