Matteo Tognozzi is Rio Ave's new sporting director. The 38-year-old Italian director, who held the same position at Spanish club Granada from 2023 to 2025, also has experience in sports management at several renowned clubs, including Zenit, Hamburg, Bayer Leverkusen, and Juventus.
"We believe that Matteo Tognozzi's experience in recruiting new talent and in sports management at the highest level in European football brings value to the Rio Ave project and structure, so it is with great satisfaction that we see Matteo begin, with immediate effect, carrying out his duties," published the SAD on the Vilacondenses' official website.
