Lanús makes a mistake and confuses Fluminense with a club from Acre

Fluminense 's opponent in the South American Cup, Lanús, made a blunder during a tribute on the eve of the quarterfinals. The Argentine team presented the Tricolor with a plaque during the pre-match ceremony between the directors, but they confused the crest. Thus, the emblem printed on it was actually that of Independência, from Acre.
Fluminense vs Lanús: where to watch, lineups and refereeing
The meeting took place on Monday night (22), in Rio de Janeiro. After the Argentine team landed, the directors of the two clubs met for dinner. Representing Lanús, vice-president Juan Manuel Rellán presented the plaque to Mário Bittencourt, president of Fluminense. Lanús published the image of the meeting on social media. However, it was deleted due to the error.
Inspired by Fluminense, Independência adopted the Rio de Janeiro club's colors and crest. Thus, there are similarities in the emblem design. Inside the crest are the initials "IFC," similar to Fluminense's "FFC." Hence the confusion with Lanús. Independência, however, is from Acre. The team, in fact, is the current two-time Acre state champion and has 13 state titles.
Fluminense faces Lanús this Tuesday (23), at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), at Maracanã, for the second leg of the quarterfinals of the South American. In the first leg, the Argentines won 1-0. Therefore, to advance to the semifinals, Tricolor needs to win by two goals. However, in case of a one-goal victory, the decision will be on penalties. The Argentinians, in turn, play for a draw.
