Everything indicates that Samsung is the company chosen by Apple to develop and supply the flexible displays that will be used in the first iPhone with a foldable screen. However, rumors are circulating that indicate that the display used in Apple's foldable phone will be more advanced than what we see today in the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip.

The yeux1122 page on the Naver blog (via 9to5mac) reports that Samsung has reduced the visibility of the 'crease' that is normally found in foldable phones in the hinge area, something that has led Apple to move forward with plans to launch a foldable iPhone.

“[Apple’s first foldable iPhone] will be equipped with a new display that has never been installed in Samsung’s existing products on the market,” the website writes. “In particular, the reason why the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s thickness was reduced so quickly is seen internally as preparation for Apple’s display. In addition, the new process and improvements to the device have greatly improved color reproduction and lighting.”

The 'leaker' says we will still have the opportunity to see the advances made with this technology with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 this summer, stating that the device will have a thickness of 3.9mm (open) and 8.9mm (closed).

For comparison, these thicknesses are lower than that of the Oppo Find N5, which is 4.21mm when open and 8.93mm when closed.

The first foldable iPhone has not yet been officially announced by Apple, but it is believed to be released in late 2026.
