Far-right terrorism: a regime farce

A few weeks ago, the news reported the dismantling of a far-right terrorist group with plans to assassinate a senior figure in the regime and storm Parliament, a type of imminent danger in Portugal since 1974. Given the excellent quality of the police and judicial authorities who, in advance, always dismantle the sinister violence of the far-right , the Portuguese are left with the duty to feel like any person who has won the Euromillions for fifty consecutive years.
Let's go back to the 1980s and 1990s. Every time the then new football fan clubs of the three major clubs caused disturbances, journalists, commentators and experts on television, radio and newspapers (at the time in print) warned the good people about the extremely dangerous threat posed by skinheads . They were immediately decoded as neo-Nazis , neo-fascists and neo-Salazarists , and their infiltration among football fans of Benfica, Porto or Sporting was the mask, the mere gateway to destroy democracy and the glorious journey of the Third Portuguese Republic towards the socialist paradise, as determined by the Constitution.
Years and decades passed and it became very clear that this war against far-right terrorism fluctuated according to the match schedule of the then first division. Then it rested between the last round of the championship and the first of the following season. Raúl Solnado had gone to war in the same way.
Meanwhile, the noble Portuguese citizens who led this civic bravado, including failed politicians and journalists (one and the same thing), created a successful political party, the Bloco de Esquerda (BE). The skinheads , bald terrorists , began to be stopped by hairy leftists, as human consciousness became proportional to the length of hair. In the context, the owner of the regime, the Socialist Party (PS), collected high incomes for protecting such a noble cause, and kept winning elections until, finally, achieving the nirvana of an absolute majority (2022-2024).
For everything to remain the same, something has to change along the way. The skinhead label was magically replaced by names, faces, and fashionable symbols: André Ventura and Chega. That was when the far-right ’s anti- terrorism narrative discovered a new light for its old vice, especially because it never lacked the precious collaboration of national, European and global police and judicial authorities. The narrative became even clearer and more refined: trivial-everyday-accident-and-accident, and then it was Ventura/Chega/Órban/Bolsonaro/Trump-America/Hitler-Extermination/World-War-III/Atomic-Bomb.
This has become the obvious infallible every time a citizen is punched by a white Portuguese person; a white Portuguese person commits an abuse or crime that affects someone from a minority, it could even be an accident or traffic incident; the multiculturalism of a classroom is disturbed by a naughty white Portuguese child; a presentation session of an LGBTI+ book is forced to deviate from the progressive script; among other trivialities of everyday life that are difficult to avoid. The circus owners never contain themselves, because they want another fifty years of paranoia, to add to the previous fifty.
At least let's try a democratic change. Let's enter a new season, that of the preventive dismantling of left-wing terrorism. In this case, the word extreme would be redundant. There is no shortage of factual affinities on the left that guarantee bombastic anti-terrorist hysteria. There are more than enough to justify preventive alerts in school and university classrooms, special laws, specialized anti-terrorism brigades of police forces and judicial agents. But what is truly indispensable would be a battalion of journalists, commentators and experts.
In a flash, the imminence of left-wing terrorism would spring up on every corner every time a gypsy or two started shooting or punching teachers or nurses, including destroying facilities; a black person or two was arrested for possession of a weapon, drug trafficking or car theft; a Muslim kidnapped his wife or daughters from social life, plus some scribbles in Arabic on suspicious paper; squatters invaded other people's property; the comfortable cell of the PCC (Primeiro Comando da Capital) showed signs of life, one of the most violent criminal networks in the world exported from Brazil to Portugal by the communist dictatorship of Lula da Silva; international cooperation programs were associated with the tropics where the left (PCP, BE, PS and also PSD) have had good old friends addicted to state terrorism, the proper name for socialism, for decades. The fruitful relations with communist China could even be left out.
Instead of being normal people, if right-wingers decided to be as hysterical as left-wingers, they would have more than enough reasons not to even leave their homes, except in absolutely exceptional circumstances and armed to the teeth. This is because they would live in the absolute certainty that Portugal is immersed in an apocalyptic war, like Palestine, given that since 2018, with the socialist government of António Costa, the worsening of illegal immigration has become the greatest objective proof ever of the destructive power of left-wing terrorism over the native people and the country.
We can no longer tolerate so much stupidity. In Portuguese dictionaries, "far-right terrorism" should already be synonymous with "circus" and its enemies-animators synonymous with "clowns" .
