The effective arrest of the doctor from the Commandos test was reversed

The Supreme Court of Justice (STJ) decided this Wednesday to reverse the effective prison sentence sentence given to the Commando test doctor who killed two recruits in 2016, mitigating the sentence and suspending its execution.
According to the ruling of the STJ, issued this Wednesday, the panel of counselors decided to sentence the doctor Miguel Domingues to “two specially mitigated sentences” of three years and six months in prison for the two crimes of abuse of authority by offending physical integrity , which translates, in legal cumulation, into a single sentence of four years and six months in prison, the execution of which is suspended for five years .
The STJ's decision reverses the effective prison sentence of this defendant, decreed by the Lisbon Court of Appeal , which had applied a prison sentence of seven years and six months, in legal cumulation.
In the first instance, doctor Miguel Domingues had been acquitted , even though the Public Prosecutor's Office had requested that he be sentenced to five years in prison.
