Public petition demands the resignation of Eduardo Jesus

A public petition was created on Thursday demanding the resignation of the regional secretary for Tourism, Environment and Culture, Eduardo Jesus, following the inappropriate language used last Tuesday, in the Parliament of Madeira, during the debate on the Budget of the Autonomous Region of Madeira for 2025.
The minister uttered insulting words to the PS deputies, Sílvia Silva and Sancha Campanella, as well as to the Juntos Pelo Povo deputy, Rafael Nunes, calling them “girl”, “bloody idiot”, “bardamerda” and “big clown”.
Meanwhile, Eduardo Jesus has already come to apologize. In the letter sent to the president of the Legislative Assembly (AL) of Madeira, Rubina Leal, he stresses that he "did not intend to offend the ladies and gentlemen deputies or the parliamentary institution itself", stating that his comments "arose from the tension generated by the enthusiastic political debate, which naturally develops in a heated manner in that context".
