69-year-old man dies in collision between bicycle and car

A 69-year-old man died on Wednesday night following a collision between a bicycle and a light vehicle on the National Road (EN) 1 in Anadia, Aveiro district, a GNR source told Lusa.

The accident alert was issued at 8:33 p.m. on Wednesday on the EN 1 in the Malaposta area of Anadia. The accident resulted in the death of a 69-year-old man who was riding a bicycle, a source from the GNR (National Republican Guard) said.

During the rescue operations, the EN 1 was closed in both directions, and the situation returned to normal around 11 pm, he added.

Members of the fire department, INEM and GNR were at the scene, investigating the causes of the accident.
