Young woman spends more than R$25,000 on fillers and regrets it

A British man who spent thousands on extreme lip and facial fillers has shared why he decided to have them removed. In shocking before-and-after photos, 25-year-old Christopher Sharratt from Staffordshire , England, revealed how years of injections left him with enlarged lips and facial swelling before undergoing four procedures to return to his natural appearance.
Christopher got his first filler at age 17 and loved it, so he never stopped. According to the young man, he spent about £3,500 (equivalent to R$25,219).
To Newsweek, the young man revealed that he had become addicted to the results: "You get a mil [millimeter] and your lips swell up, or wherever you have on your face. And you think, 'Oh my God, that swelling looks so good.' And a week later, the swelling goes down and you think, 'Oh, shit, I need to go and get another mil.'"

For Sharratt, the turning point came during the COVID-19 lockdown, when he was unable to access filler treatments. Looking back at photos of himself, he had an epiphany: "I actually didn't look that bad. I should have been a little kinder to myself," he reflected.
Sharratt's decision to undo years of facial modifications wasn't easy. It took four rounds of filler injections—painful and time-consuming—to remove the filler. "I had four rounds of filler injections because I had so much filler in my lip," he said.

"The cheeks and jaw were easy to remove , but I had to start ripping the lips off and reattaching them behind because there was no more room to fill," he said. "It took four full rounds of dissolution to remove them."
Now that he's free of fillers, Sharratt says he feels more confident and approachable than ever. "More people come up to me now than ever before," he said. "Before, no one would even say hello."
