James Foley, director of 'Fifty Shades of Grey', has died

James Foley, director of the 'Fifty Shades of Grey' sequels, has died at the age of 71. According to the Hollywood Reporter, his representative confirmed the news and added that he "died peacefully in his sleep earlier this week" at home in Los Angeles. It is also known that he "had been battling brain cancer for years."
James Foley was born on December 28, 1953, and grew up in New York City. He studied film at New York University and then at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
Throughout his career spanning more than 30 years in film, television and music videos, he has collaborated with a number of stars including Al Pacino, Sean Penn, Madonna and Mark Wahlberg.
He made his directorial debut with 1984's Reckless, starring Aidan Quinn and Daryl Hannah. In addition to Fifty Shades of Grey, he also directed 1987's At Close Range, 1990's After Dark, My Sweet and 1992's Glengarry Glen Ross, and was responsible for several of Madonna's music videos.
