NGO selects young people for free dental treatment in 148 municipalities

A national initiative will select five thousand children and adolescents in situations of social vulnerability, aged between 11 and 17, to receive free dental treatment. The initiative, called Megatriagem 2025 , will be carried out on May 15 in 148 cities throughout Brazil .
At the same time, 12 capitals will receive the action: Aracaju (SE), Belo Horizonte (MG), Brasília (DF), Curitiba (PR), João Pessoa (PB), Manaus (AM), Porto Alegre (RS), Recife (PE), Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Salvador (BA), São Paulo (SP), Vitória (ES).
The full list of participating cities can be found on the official website . The event is organized by the NGO Turma do Bem, which manages a network of 18,000 volunteer dentists.
During the action, participants will be evaluated by a volunteer dentist through a non-invasive visual examination , in which information about the patient's oral health and socioeconomic status will be recorded, in addition to being offered an oral hygiene kit .
How will the action work?
The selected young people will receive free dental care until they turn 18. The selection criteria take into account the severity of the dental problem and the economic and social situation of the young people, prioritizing the most serious cases and the poorest families.
How to participate? There is no need to register in advance to apply for treatment. Simply search for locations in your city or nearby cities on the official website. Young people must be between 11 and 17 years old and must be accompanied by a guardian. It is essential to present an ID and proof of residence at the screening location.
After simultaneous screenings, the Turma do Bem team will send an approval letter to the young people who are selected for free dental treatment with all the necessary information.
“It is always very inspiring to see our dentists mobilized to promote real transformations in the lives of people who need it so much. Not having access to oral health care just because they cannot afford treatment is still a reality for millions of Brazilians,” says Fábio Bibancos, volunteer president and founder of the NGO.
In 2024, the same action benefited more than five thousand young people. The NGO's goal is to offer free dental treatment to low-income populations with serious oral problems. The project focuses on two main audiences: young people aged 11 to 17 and women who are victims of gender-based violence and have had their teeth affected.
