Eletrobras reports net profit of R$1.46 billion in the 2nd quarter

Eletrobras reported adjusted net income of R$1.469 billion in the second quarter of this year, a 43% increase compared to the same period in 2024, when it posted a profit of R$1.025 billion. The electricity company's financial data was released on Wednesday, the 6th.
As a result, the more than 240,000 shareholders will receive R$4 billion in additional dividends approved by the company. The amount will be credited on the 28th of this month and reflects Eletrobras' capital allocation methodology.
At the beginning of the year, Eletrobras had already distributed another R$4.1 billion related to 2024 performance, in what was the third largest dividend payment in the company's history.
“The company maintained its focus on efficiency and capital discipline, and our results in energy trading were positive,” said Ivan Monteiro, the company’s president.
He also stated that Eletrobras ' priority "is predictability and increased investment to ensure the resilience of our assets and inorganic expansion through transmission auctions. We are strengthening the foundations for a more competitive company, valuing innovation and quality of service."
According to the financial report, this result reflected the company's good operational performance, even though it was impacted by the adjustment of 3.4 billion reais in transmission contracts related to the financial component of the Basic Network of the Existing System.
