EasyJet pilot suspended for walking naked in hotel

A pilot for the British low-cost airline EasyJet shocked the passengers he carried on the flight on Monday, August 4, when he appeared in the early hours of Tuesday, August 5, very drunk and walking naked through the common areas of a luxury hotel in Cape Verde.
According to The Sun newspaper , the experienced pilot who transported tourists from the United Kingdom to the archipelago began drinking shortly after arriving and was seen at the bar from late afternoon onwards. Witnesses reported seeing the man completely paralyzed.
The pilot, whose identity was not released, was later seen taking off his clothes and heading to the reception of the Meliá Dunas Beach Resort and Spa hotel in Cape Verde, before heading to the hotel's gym. Finally, he headed to the spa. It all happened around 2:30 a.m. local time (4:30 a.m. in Portugal).
"The pilot's lack of professionalism was shocking. It was the height of stupidity. His career at EasyJet was ruined," said a source familiar with the dismissal process, quoted by the same newspaper.
The pilot was scheduled to make the return trip to Gatwick on the afternoon of August 6, but ended up being suspended by EasyJet and replaced by another professional .
An EasyJet spokesperson, quoted by The Guardian , responded by stating that “the safety of passengers and staff is a priority” for the company.
The airline's rules, in fact, establish that employees must behave "with integrity when interacting with people, customers, partners and communities with which they operate," reports the British BBC .
