Jorge Palma's concerts with his children canceled due to the singer's health

The performances in Lisbon and Oliveira do Hospital this month of the show “3 palmas na mão”, which brings together Jorge Palma and his sons Vicente and Francisco, have been cancelled due to the musician's health issues, it was announced today.
“Unfortunately, I have to inform you that the '3 palmas na mão' concerts, scheduled for the 22nd and 23rd of July at the Teatro Maria Matos [in Lisbon], and the concert at EXPOH, in Oliveira do Hospital, scheduled for the 26th, will not be able to take place”, reads a post shared at 6pm today on Jorge Palma's social media pages.
The musician reveals that he underwent a "scheduled surgery" at the end of June, which went very well, and he already feels "strong" and "very eager to return to the stage." However, "on medical advice," Jorge Palma will need "some more recovery time before returning to the road," which will happen in the second half of August.
In the publication, Jorge Palma highlights “the fundamental importance of the National Health System”, thanking “everyone, without exception”.
Anyone who had tickets for the shows in Lisbon will be able to request a refund, "starting Friday, at the point of sale where they were purchased."
The musician says that, with the team, he is “working on a way to compensate those who have always expressed an interest in being present at the Maria Matos Theater.”
"In addition to guaranteeing a full refund, we ask that you keep your ticket barcode number, as we also ensure that anyone who had a ticket for this canceled show will have special conditions at the project's next performance in Lisbon," the publication reads.
Regarding the show at EXPOH, in Oliveira do Hospital, the musician promises to “do everything possible to return there for the next edition”.
The show “3 palmas na mão” was supposed to premiere in April of this year in Lisbon, with two concerts at the Teatro Maria Matos, in Lisbon, but both dates were postponed until July due to Jorge Palma's health reasons.
At 75 years old, Jorge Palma joins his sons and musicians Vicente Palma and Francisco Palma on stage for a cross-sectional lineup of originals and versions by the author of “Bairro do Amor”.
The show was presented in May in Loulé, Vale de Cambra and Vila Nova de Gaia.
According to the musician's management, in a statement released when “3 palmas na mão” was announced, “the most substantial part” of the show consists of his songs, from his first album to his most recent.
“But there will also be space for 'covers' of songs that mean a lot to the three of us (…) and perhaps there will even be solos by Vicente and Francisco, of their songs or others'”, it was anticipated.
The title of the show began as the name of Jorge Palma and his sons' group on the WhatsApp platform, before becoming a song included in the musician's most recent album, "Vida", and then taking the form of a concert.
