Harry Potter Gets a Super-Production of Audiobooks in November

Summary Audible will release a blockbuster Harry Potter audiobook in November 2025, featuring a renowned cast and an immersive audio experience for all seven books in the series.
Harry Potter fans are counting down the minutes until the premiere of the new series based on J.K. Rowling's books, which HBO Max is producing, but while the production doesn't reach streaming, how about giving another production involving the world's most famous wizard a chance, on another platform, in another format?
Audible will release a new full-cast production of the seven books in the "Harry Potter" series, featuring over 200 voices, from young actors to Hollywood stars. The first audiobook, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone," will premiere on November 4, 2025, and the remaining audiobooks will be released monthly.
The project, which promises an "immersive audio experience" with an original soundtrack, has already completed casting. Notable names include Hugh Laurie ("House") as Albus Dumbledore, Matthew Macfadyen ("Succession") as Lord Voldemort, Riz Ahmed ("Sound of Metal") as Professor Snape, and Michelle Gomez ("Doctor Who") as Professor McGonagall. Cush Jumbo ("The Good Fight") will narrate.
Young actors Frankie Treadaway and Arabella Stanton will play Harry Potter and Hermione Granger, respectively, in the first three books. Jaxon Knopf and Nina Barker-Francis play the same roles in books 4 through 7. This production is independent of the HBO television series adaptation.
In a statement, Hugh Laurie said, "It's an honor to be trusted with the role of the new Albus Dumbledore." The release aims to "rekindle the magic for longtime fans and captivate a new generation of listeners," according to Audible's chief content officer.
