All About Lilibet, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Only Daughter

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry share two children, 6-year-old Archie and 4-year-old Lilibet. The Sussexes tend to be careful about what they choose to share about their kids on social media, but they have posted more photos and details in the last year.

Here’s everything to know about their youngest child and only daughter, Lilibet, so far.

The Sussexes welcomed their daughter on June 4, 2021, at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, California. When she was born, the royal family shared the message, “Congratulations to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the birth of Lilibet Diana! The Queen, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted with the news. Lilibet is Her Majesty’s 11th great-grandchild.”

She was baptized almost two years later at the family home, according to People, by the Archbishop of Los Angeles, the Reverend John Taylor. Director and producer Tyler Perry is actually Lilibet’s godfather.

Yes, Lilibet has a princess title, as she is a grandchild of the U.K. monarch. Lilibet gained it when Charles III became king, and her parentsofficially called her Princess Lilibet for the first time in March 2023.

A spokesperson for Meghan and Harry explained to the BBC, “The children's titles have been a birthright since their grandfather became monarch. This matter has been settled for some time in alignment with Buckingham Palace.”

Her full name is Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor. In their official statement announcing her arrival, Meghan and Harry shared that the name pays tribute to Harry’s mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, and his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen’s family nickname was Lilibet.

Lilibet can use her princess title, according to the rules on the Buckingham Palace website. Both she and Archie became eligible for titles following the death of Queen Elizabeth, when Prince Charles became King Charles. But it is meant for formal purposes and not everyday, per People.

Lilibet’s nickname is “Lili.”

The couple has shared a little bit about the 4-year-old princess over the years. In the last episode of their Harry & Meghan docuseries, Meghan discussed how she suffered a miscarriage during her second pregnancy, after Archie. It was a very difficult experience, but welcoming Lili helped her to recover.

“There was something that felt so complete once we had Lilibet,” she explained. “Everyone just really respected that we had been through so much. And that we, like any other parent, deserve to just welcome their child into the world peacefully and have that time as a family to nurture and cocoon. Which we did with the addition of our little toddler.”

In the doc, Harry also talked about how Lili is similar to his mom, Princess Diana.

“I think at the moment I see a lot of my wife in Archie, and I see a lot of my mom in Lili,” he explained. “She’s very Spencer-like. She’s got the same blue eyes.”

“Blue, blue, blue eyes,” Meghan added.

“Sort of like a golden reddish hair,” Harry said.

During an interview on The Drew Barrymore show, Meghan was asked by Barrymore if there’s anything Archie and Lili do that reminds her of Harry.

Meghan replied, “Oh, some of the words that they still say with a British accent, so they’ll say zeh-bra [for zebra] and what else do they say? They have these little moments where it comes out and because they have very American accents, but they say words that are just like him, and I think it’s adorable.”

She was interviewed in October 2025 by friend and Northwestern sorority sister, Courtney Adamo. She was asked about her daily life and shared a routine she has with Lili.

“Our daughter, she’s four, and she’s a very strong personality and she’s incredible,” Meghan shared. “And now she’s in this moment where I say, ‘What’s your rose and your thorn?’ And she goes, ‘My day was just a blast.’”

Meghan has shared snippets of her time with Lili at home, showing her in the garden, playing outside, cooking in the kitchen, and even working on their apiary in her beekeeper’s outfit.

When she was just a few weeks old, Harry said at the WellChild Awards, via Hello!, that Lili has an easy baby.

“We’ve been lucky so far, she’s very chilled and seems happy to just sit there while Archie is running around like crazy,” Harry said. “Two is definitely a juggle.”

In April 2022, he told People, “Her current priorities are trying to keep up with her brother; she took her first step just a few days ago! Proud papa, here.”

At the Sundance Film Festival, Meghan was promoting Cookie Queens, a documentary she executive-produced following four Girl Scouts selling cookies. Meghan was a Girl Scout herself, and Deadline asked her if Lilibet was going to follow in her footsteps.

Meghan didn’t answer outright, saying instead, “I think we’ll continue to explore whatever feels right. Alysa [Nahmias, the director of Cookie Queens] is a mom of a daughter, and I think for both of us working on this project it’s been incredibly special as parents, as mothers to be able to see something our girls will be able to enjoy and watch as well.”

On June 4, 2026, Meghan shared new photos of Lilibet to celebrate her turning five-years-old. In the photos, the birthday girl is wearing a sleeveless white summer dress with a scalloped hem and lace details. In the first image, she is held by her smiling dad as her mom leans towards them both. In the second, Lilibet is in a beautiful green yard, touching a flower. In the caption, Meghan wrote, “Our dream girl. Happy 5th birthday, Lili 🤍”
