GNR arrests 18 people in Albufeira in an operation targeting nightlife venues

A total of 18 people were arrested in Albufeira following several inspections by the GNR, which mainly targeted nightlife venues.

In a note released this Tuesday, the authority states that more than three thousand doses of drugs were also seized.

The arrests took place between July 30 and August 4, as part of “inspection, policing and crime-fighting actions, with a particular focus on the main nightlife venues in the municipality of Albufeira”.

The objective, the publication also states, is to “prevent and repress illegal behavior, within the scope of operational reinforcement aimed at promoting public safety and tranquility”,

The detainees are 17 men, aged between 18 and 56, and a 36-year-old woman.
