Tears of Wojciech Szczęsny. Moving scenes with the participation of the Pole

Long before the match began, we reported that Polish fans would most likely see only one of their two compatriots on the pitch. Wojciech Szczęsny was in coach Hansi Flick's plans. It was completely different in the case of Robert Lewandowski, but that was the consequence of an injury , after which Barca's best scorer in LaLiga is returning to full fitness.
FC Barcelona on top in El Clasico! Wojciech Szczęsny's emotionsThis was indeed the case, with Szczęsny in the hosts’ goal from the first minute, while Lewandowski did not leave the bench.
In the case of the Polish goalkeeper, El Clasico did not start well . Right at the start, the Pole fouled Kylian Mbappe in the penalty area, and the referee had to point to the eleventh meter. Szczęsny was forced to do so by his teammate, but it does not change the fact that it was the Polish goalkeeper who fell into the Frenchman's legs.
Mbappe was on top, although Szczęsny had the ball within reach of his gloves. However, the strike was very powerful and precise.
As it turned out, Szczęsny had to retrieve the ball from the net twice more after shots by the French sniper. Once in the first half (for 0:2) and in the second (for 4:3).
Ultimately, however, Szczęsny won the most important duel with Mbappe, when the fate of Barcelona's victory was at stake. The Catalans, after a great first half, did not score a single goal in the second. The Frenchman, on the other hand, came out perfectly for a one-on-one situation with the Pole at the very end of the match. However, Szczęsny intervened very well, confidently.
The Pole’s intervention was rightly noticed and appreciated on the official LaLiga account on the X portal.
Ultimately, the score remained unchanged until the end of the match, and Barcelona, adding three points to their tally, are now within reach of the Spanish championship title. Right after the final whistle, Szczęsny did not hide his emotion at winning. According to Sport.pl journalist Dominik Wardzichowski, who was at the match in Catalonia, the Pole even shed tears.
It's no wonder, after all, he could win LaLiga in a moment - and in the summer of 2024 - he was retired from football! And now he takes part in such spectacles, in which he plays a significant role. Szczęsny additionally rehabilitated himself for the situation with the penalty kick when the goal was 0:1. The Pole certainly came out of El Clasico unscathed.
