The main phase tournaments as part of the preparations for the finals

Coach Stefano Lavarini is in a very comfortable situation. This is because he can treat the three tournaments of the Nations League regular phase as part of the preparations for the grand finals. They will be played in Łódź and the Polish women, as hosts, are automatically guaranteed promotion to the quarterfinals.

Thanks to this, Lavarini can test new setups in earlier matches and give a bit more minutes to the second-row players, who usually play much less. This staff review will certainly bear fruit in the future. The Polish team wants to fight for a third Nations League medal in a row.

Which volleyball players played in the first tournament in Beijing?

The first tournament took place on June 4-8 in Beijing. There, Stefano Lavarini relied on the theoretically strongest line-up. The squad included stars from the Polish national team, for whom it was the first big test of national teams this season. The following players flew to Beijing:

● setters: Katarzyna Wenerska, Alicja Grabka,

● attackers: Magdalena Stysiak, Malwina Smarzek,

● receiving: Martyna Łukasik, Olivia Różański, Martyna Czyrniańska, Paulina Damaske,

● middle: Agnieszka Korneluk, Aleksandra Gryka, Sonia Stefanik, Dominika Pierzchała,

● libero: Aleksandra Szczygłowska, Justyna Łysiak.

Cosmetic changes to the squad ahead of the tournament in Belgrade. Who else does Stefano Lavarini have in reserve?

The second tournament of this phase of the Nations League will take place on June 18-22 in Belgrade. In the capital of Serbia, Polish volleyball players will play against:

· Dutch women,

· American women,

· German women,

· Serbs.

Coach Stefano Lavarini has decided on cosmetic line-ups in the squad. Julita Piasecka, Weronika Centka-Tetianiec and Magdalena Jurczyk will appear in Belgrade. Compared to the tournament in Beijing, Olivia Różański, Sonia Stefanik and Dominika Pierzchała will be missing.

For the Nations League tournaments, 14 volleyball players may be called up. Of course, there are many more in the Polish team. At the beginning of May, Stefano Lavarini announced a broad squad for the national team season. In addition to the aforementioned players, he also has at his disposal such players as:

· Marlena Kowalewska,

· Julia Nowicka,

· Victoria Szewczyk,

· Martyna Borowczak,

· Karolina Drużkowska,

· Natalia Murek,

· Julia Orzol,

· Aleksandra Rasinska,

· Julia Szczurowska,

· Agata Milewska,

· Anna Obiala,

· Adrianna Adamek,

· Klaudia Łyduch.

It is possible that some of them will play at the next tournament, which will take place on July 9-13 in Chiba, Japan. All the Nations League tournaments for women's volleyball, including the performances of the Polish national team, are available on Polsat sports channels.
