Iga Świątek outclassed Aryna Sabalenka. A clear change was visible.

Iga Świątek is the second-ranked player in the WTA rankings. The 24-year- old has just completed another year in which she has recorded 60 or more victories in official WTA matches. Moreover, this is her fourth consecutive year (2022-2025).
WTA: Iga Świątek beats Aryna Sabalenka. The ranking leader is outclassed! The last tennis players to achieve this feat were Martina Hingis of Switzerland (1997-2001) and Lindsay Davenport of the United States (1998-2001), both playing at the turn of the 21st century. The Polish player has now joined the ranks of tennis' greatest ever, and there are many indications that this status quo may continue for some time to come.
With her victory over Madison Keys at the 2025 WTA Finals , the Polish player has just added win number 61 this season.
Aryna Sabalenka, meanwhile, crossed the 60-match winning streak for the first time in her career. The Minsk-born tennis player is the WTA leader. Thanks to her victory at the tournament in the Saudi Arabian capital – Sabalenka defeated Jasmine Paolini – Świątek's biggest opponent can boast a similar achievement to the Pole.
It was the first time in over a decade that two tennis players had surpassed the 60-match win barrier in a single season. The last time, in 2013, was achieved by American Serena Williams and Agnieszka Radwańska.
Świątek, in a rebound to Sabalenka's achievements, seems to be playing in a higher league of her own. The Polish player's incredible consistency is particularly impressive.
Iga Świątek and all her championship titlesIn her career so far, the Polish player has won a total of 25 championship titles on courts almost all over the world.
Świątek has won six Grand Slam titles, four at Roland Garros (2020, 2022, 2023, and 2024), one at the US Open (2022), and one at Wimbledon (2025). She also won the prestigious WTA Finals (2023).
In addition, wins in WTA 1000 tournaments, respectively in: Rome (2021, 2022, 2024), Doha (2022 and 2024), Indian Wells (2022 and 2024), Miami (2022), Beijing (2023), Madrid (2024) and the most recent one in Cincinnati (2025).
The list also includes WTA 500 events: Adelaide (2021), Stuttgart (2022 and 2023), San Diego (2022), Doha (2023), and Seoul (2025). Plus, a Polish twist, the WTA 250 in Warsaw (2023).
After the 2024 Paris Olympics, a bronze medal should be added to this list. This is the first medal in Polish Olympic history to be won on the tennis court. Although, as the tennis player herself mentioned, after winning Wimbledon, if she could, she would trade one of her Grand Slam victories for Olympic gold.
