New tanks are coming to Poland. A huge surprise.

- The Polish Army is undergoing modernization, and new tanks are regularly arriving in the country.
- Operating these machines requires huge amounts of fuel – the Abrams burns 1,090 l/100 km and the Leopard 828 l/100 km.
- By 2030, the number of modern tanks in the Polish army is to increase to 950 units.
The Polish Army is undergoing gradual modernization, particularly noticeable in its land forces and armored units. New tanks are regularly arriving in the country, including:
- Abrams from the USA,
- K2 Black Panther from South Korea,
- Leopards from Germany.
Tank operation is associated with enormous fuel consumption. Bartłomiej Kucharski, a journalist from "Wojsko i Technika," noted in an interview with WNP that all tanks are multi-fuel and can use:
- regular gasoline,
- diesel fuel,
- aviation fuel,
- biofuels.
And how much fuel will tanks burn ? Those unfamiliar with the subject may be quite surprised:
- Abrams has a standard of 1090 l per 100 km off-road;
- the standard for the Leopard 2A5 is 828 l per 100 km.
The PT-91 is a different story. This Polish modernization of the Soviet T-72 is powered by an 850 hp diesel engine. Official data indicates that such a tank consumes 480 l/100 km, as reported in WNP.PL.
Meanwhile, the Koreans do not disclose data on the fuel consumption of their tanks.
Orders for modern K2 and Abrams tanksLet us recall that on September 11, a ship carrying as many as 52 armored vehicles, including 38 modern M1A2SEPv3 Abrams tanks, arrived at a Polish port.
By 2030, Poland is expected to have 950 modern tanks.
