The Świętokrzyskie Prevention Days are coming soon. They will be launched by a conference on AIDS and addictions

• The conference aims to exchange experiences and discuss the threats related to the use of drugs, psychoactive substances and the prevention of AIDS and HIV.

On May 20, 2025, the XXII Świętokrzyskie Prevention Days 2025 will start. The main event of these days will be a conference entitled "Prevention of addictions, AIDS and HIV - integrated approach and health education", which will start at 10.30 a.m. at the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship Office in Kielce, located at Aleja IX Wieków Kielc 3, in room number 12 (the so-called round table).

Voivode Józef Bryk invited representatives of schools, educational centers, detention centers, local governments, family courts and social workers to participate in the conference. The aim of the meeting is to exchange experiences and discuss contemporary threats resulting from the use of drugs or psychoactive substances, as well as in the field of AIDS and HIV prevention. Invited specialists will also address the subject of mental disorders occurring in connection with addictions and the issue of drug crime.

The conference program includes two parts. In the first part, Dr. Aleksandra Olawska-Szymańska will give a lecture on mental disorders related to substance abuse in children. Dr. Anna Przenzak will discuss the role of language as an element of building motivation to change harmful behaviors in addiction prevention. The first part of the program will end with a presentation by Anna Kwaśniewska-Maciejczyk entitled "Are we living in addictive times?".

In the second part of the conference, Ewa Ziemkiewicz and Ewa Czarnecka will present the topic "Contemporary threats to children and youth", Senior Superintendent Jarosław Borowski will focus on drug crime and preventive measures in the Świętokrzyskie Province, and then there will be a session devoted to familiarizing oneself with an unknown land - HIV and AIDS prevention, led by Dr. Hab. Monika Springer, Dr. Eliza Mazur and Dr. Edyta Laurmann-Jarząbek. The conference will end with a presentation by Irena Sobieraj "Addictions, HIV and AIDS - what should we know".
