Prof. Robert Rejdak re-elected chairman of the Association of Polish Ophthalmic Surgeons

The professor was elected to this position during the recently concluded 5th National Congress of the Association of Polish Ophthalmic Surgeons. This is Professor Robert Rejdak's third term in office.
Prof. Robert Rejdak was re-elected president of the Association of Polish Ophthalmic Surgeons. This occurred during the organization's national congress in Warsaw .

He earned his doctorate in 2000, his habilitation in 2009, and the academic title of professor of medical sciences in 2013. He holds diplomas in basic (2002) and clinical (2004) from the International Council of Ophthalmology .
Since 2011, he has been the Head of the General Ophthalmology Clinic at the Medical University of Lublin . From 2004 to 2019, he worked at the Institute of Experimental and Clinical Medicine of the Polish Academy of Sciences . Since 2011, he has been a lecturer and coordinator of practical training in vitreoretinal surgery (vitreous body and retina) at the European School for Advanced Studies in Ophthalmology (ESASO) in Lugano, Switzerland.

He also worked for six months in Erlangen , where he honed his skills under the supervision of Prof. Anselm Jünemann. He has published his work in the most prestigious national and international journals, including Graefe's Archive for Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology , Acta Ophthalmologica , Retina , Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science , and Klinika Oczna . He is co-founder and deputy editor-in-chief of the Ophthalmology Journal .
In his clinical and research work, Professor Robert Rejdak specializes in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of cataracts, vitreous and retinal diseases , and ocular injuries . He has performed over 30,000 surgeries .
In January 2013, he participated in the first artificial iris implantation surgery in Poland . In 2016, he was the first in the country to perform Scharioth macular lens implantation and hybrid vitrectomy .
He is the co-founder and director of the Supraregional Center for the Treatment of Ocular Injuries at SPSK No. 1 in Lublin . The clinic he manages is the only center in Poland to be included in the European Network of Reference Centers for Rare Eye Diseases (ERN-EYE) .
