Nearly half a billion złoty for the digitization of Polish culture. Deputy Prime Minister: I am extremely proud.

The Ministry of Digital Affairs will allocate PLN 440 million for the digitization of Polish culture, announced Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs Krzysztof Gawkowski during the conference.
"I am extremely proud that (...) I can talk about the large sums of money that will be allocated for the digitization of cultural resources across the country," said Krzysztof Gawkowski.
"Digitizing culture is an element that allows us to secure collections, making every book, handicraft, engraving, and map accessible to everyone, anywhere in the world. (...) This is a huge project. In many respects – from projects financed by the European Union, from projects financed under digitization programs – we, as the Ministry of Digital Affairs, will spend PLN 440 million on the digitization of Polish culture and its resources," he added.
The Minister indicated that PLN 440 million will be allocated, among other things, to the National Museum, the resources of Polish Television, the Fryderyk Chopin Institute, and the resources of the National Library. He stated that the National Library will be the largest beneficiary of this transformation.
"PLN 100 million will be transferred to the National Library – from a PLN 440 million package. (...) 145,000 items will be digitized," said the Deputy Prime Minister. (PAP Biznes)
