Polish Pavilion at the Venice Biennale. The Minister of Culture presented the nomination.

We know which project will represent our country at the Venice Biennale. Minister of Culture Marta Cienkowska presented the nomination to the creators of the "Tongues of Water" exhibition. "This is a bold, beautiful, and absolutely unique project. A project that says that every language has equal value, and every voice has the power to create community," she said.
The 61st International Art Exhibition in Venice will take place from May 9 to November 22, 2026. We already know which exhibition will be on display at the Polish Pavilion , organized by the Zachęta – National Gallery of Art .
Following the recommendation of the jury, the Minister of Culture , Marta Cienkowska, presented the nomination to the creators of the "Languages of Water" project.
"'Tongues of Water' is a story about communication without borders between hearing and Deaf people, between humans and whales, between the world that knows the world and the world that is just being born," she said.

As we read on the website of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the exhibition "Languages from Water" by Bogna Burska and Daniel Kotowski , created with the participation of Choir in Motion , Alicja Czyczel , Aleksandra Gryka and Magdalena Mosiewicz, explores ways of communication that go beyond the boundaries of spoken language and the human perspective.
The project was selected by a jury composed of: Marta Czyż , Dorota Jarecka , Donata Jaworska , Magdalena Komornicka , Emilia Orzechowska , Agnieszka Pindera , Stanisław Ruksza , Joanna Sokołowska , Piotr Stasiowski , Urszula Święcicka and Olga Wysocka .
Polish Exhibition at the Venice Biennale: Nothing Like This Has Been Seen Before"The winning project , 'Tongues of Water,' was selected for taking on the challenge of communication inspired by more-than-human life. Exploring the sign language of the Deaf and the ways whales communicate, it raises questions about the possibilities of building new relationships and sensitivities that transcend the boundaries of otherwise inaccessible worlds," reads the jury's justification.
The Polish Pavilion's design will combine multiple artistic elements: image , music, and choreography . This will create a space that presents communication as a bodily and communal process.
"In 2026, we will see an image that no one has ever seen at the Biennale—a choir in motion, immersed in water, choreographing a shared message. Water, a symbol of life and a universal language, will become a space of art where voices, bodies, signs, and silence meet. Today, I want to proudly say that Poland is traveling to Venice with a project that is not only about art. It is itself a manifesto of equality, courage, and the future," said Marta Cienkowska , Minister of Culture and National Heritage, about the project.
This looks intriguing!
