Al Pacino to return to screens. He will show the famous story of John Paul Getty III kidnapping

Filming will begin in Rome at the end of May on the crime thriller "Captivated," starring Al Pacino and Katie Holmes. The film is set to tell the story of the kidnapping of John Paul Getty III. The same kidnapping that inspired Ridley Scott to make "All the Money in the World." The project is being produced by Italian producer Andrea Iervolino.
"Captivated" will be directed by Dito Montiel . In his film, he will return to the events of 1973 and the unexpected friendship that was born from the kidnapping of John Paul Getty III . An unexpected bond connected the boss of the Calabrian mafia, Saro Mammoliti (an older version of this character played by Al Pacino ) and the mother of the kidnapped man, Gail Getty , played by Katie Holmes.
As we read in the description of the film presented by Variety, these two souls from completely different worlds were brought together by a tragedy that changed their lives forever.
"Amidst the psychological tension and subtle lust, this will be a seductive game of chess that adds a crucial layer of emotion to the mystery of Getty's kidnapping," the description says.
It was previously reported that Toby Kebbell would play the younger Mammoliti , but the actor withdrew from the project. Dermot Mulroney and Meadow Walker may star, with whom talks are currently underway, but it is not known what roles they would play.
"We are proud to be part of such a wonderful story shaped by the director's personal vision and an incredible cast. We are proud to bring such a production to Italy. Once again, we will be showcasing our local talents and the values of our country to an international audience," Iervolino rejoices.
One of Captivated's producers is Mammoliti's nephew, Michael. Angry with the portrayal of his family in Ridley Scott's film, he had been working for years to bring his own version of the story to the big screen.
